WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- Purdue Northwest edged the Gyrenes on Wednesday night, 90-80, in overtime in West Palm Beach. Tejai Allen led Ave Maria with 19 points and 18 rebounds.
 
Deonte Dixon also recorded a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds. Caelen Watts and Josh Flowers added 11 points while Exor Torres finished with 19 points and seven assists.
 
The Gyrenes shot 35.1 percent from the field and made 11 threes while Purdue Northwest shot 47 percent with seven threes.
 
Tyree Coe led PNWU with 29 points and nine rebounds. Torrance Johnson had 19 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Purdue Northwest jumped out to an early lead and had a 48-35 lead at the half. The Gyrenes' defense stepped up in the second half, holding Purdue Northwest to 24 points to tie the game at 72 at the end of regulation.
 
In overtime, the Gyrenes took an early 74-73 advantage before an 11-1 run by Purdue Northwest put AMU behind by nine. Purdue Northwest went on to win 90-80.
 
The Gyrenes move to 3-10 overall and are now off until Dec. 31 when they host the University of the Virgin Islands at 2 p.m.
