GEORGETOWN, Ky. --- After the Ave Maria women's lacrosse team took an early lead, a nine goal run by Georgetown put AMU behind 14-7 at the half. The Blue and Green would fall to Georgetown 23-9.

Mac Tourville scored her first of five goals less than two minutes into the game to put AMU in front 1-0. After a Georgetown College goal, Alexis Smich found the back of the net to retake the lead for the Lady Gyrenes.

After Georgetown College scored nine straight, Tourville ended the Tigers run with a goal at the 9:25 mark to make it 10-3. She added another goal less than a minute later to make the score 11-4. Later in the half, Katelyn Sherman and Abby Castro scored back-to-back goals and Tourville added her fourth of the half to make it 14-7 at the break.

Georgetown outscored AMU 9-2 in the second half to defeat the Lady Gyrenes 23-9. Tourville added her fifth goal with 17:29 to play and Stephanie Hilker added a goal at 7:27 in the second half.

Georgetown outshot the Lady Gyrenes 41-14. AMU was 11 of 16 on clears and had 27 groundballs.

Hannah Camerota made 11 saves in the loss.

AMU returns to action on Thursday when they take on Asbury College at 4 p.m.
