AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria Lady Gyrenes returned home from spring break to battle Peru State on Tuesday at the AMU Softball Field. The Blue and Green dominated the Bobcats 5-1 and 10-0 in five innings to complete the sweep.
Kingsley Avery went 4-6 from the plate with four stolen bases and three runs scored to lead AMU.
Sadie Mosher and
McKayla Jeter also record multi-hit games on the day.
Mosher and
Gennifer Raulerson both tossed complete game one-hitters for the home team. Mosher allowed one earned run on one hit, while striking out nine. Raulerson improved to 6-1 in the shutout.Â
The Lady Gyrenes outhit the Bobcats 18-2 and stole 12 bases on the day.
AMU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to South Florida State College for an exhibition doubleheader beginning at 1p.m. in Avon Park, Fla.
