The Gyrenes, who have now won three of their last four matches, were also effective on the serve, recording 14 aces. Lexie Andric posted five aces, four of which came in the opening set. Five Lady Gyrenes-Andric, Lauren Ruby, Smith, Aspen Davidson and Nina Parlapiano- had more than one ace, and six recorded at least one. The third game was the best for the Gyrenes in the service department, putting six serves in the ace column. The 14 aces were the second highest total of the season, second only to the 16 the Gyrenes recorded in the first meeting with the Wildcats.

The attack was aided heavily by the play of sophomore setter Lauren Ruby, whose 30 assists marked the fourth time this season she has equaled or topped that total. Jessica Schein logged nine digs, five coming in the match's final game. Of the Gyrenes' 25 digs, 12 came in the decisive third game, where Ave Maria pulled away early to secure the victory.
