AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team fell to Webber in straight sets on Wednesday night, 25-19, 25-15, 25-9. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Lady Gyrenes.

Webber won the opening set 25-19 after withstanding a late run by the Lady Gyrenes. AMU fell behind 10-4 only to rally and pull within two, 15-13, midway through the set. With Webber leading 21-18, the Warriors won four of the next five points to close out the set.

The Warriors jumped out to big leads in each of the next two sets and cruised to a 10-point set win in the second and 16-point set win in the third.

Both team hit the ball at a high percentage with Webber connecting on 46 kills compared to nine errors and AMU striking 27 kills compared to 16 errors.

Natalie Rosinski led AMU with nine kills followed by Erica Chenard with eight. Lauren Ruby tallied a double-double with 14 assists and 12 digs. Cassie Davis finished with 11 digs while Daniela Jaramillo added 10 digs.

The Lady Gyrenes return to the court on Friday night when they host Southeastern at 7 pm.
