LAKELAND, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team hit the road on Wednesday night, taking on the Fire of Southeastern University in a Sun Conference contest. The Lady Gyrenes fell to the Fire in straight sets, 25-10, 25-19, 25-15.

Ave Maria committed just 14 errors on the match and hit at a .120 clip but ran into a buzz saw in Southeastern that hit .468 on the night. The Fire had 54 kills to only 10 errors.

Erica Chenard and Bre Holder led AMU with seven kills and six kills, respectively. Daniela Jaramillo tallied a team-best eight digs while Lauren Ruby posted a team-high 13 assists.

The Lady Gyrenes will travel to Temple Terrace on Friday night to take on Florida College in their final non-conference contest of the year before returning to Tom Golisano Field House for Senior Night and the AMU home finale on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
