AVE MARIA, Fla. --- Playing their second game in two days, the Ave Maria Lady Gyrenes fell to the visiting Lions of Florida Memorial 3-0 in a Sun Conference match-up on Wednesday night. AMU drops to 1-3 in TSC action with the loss.

Savannah Stanton paced the Lady Gyrenes with six kills followed by Lauren Ruby, Hannah Presson, and Bre Holder who each had five. Ruby also tallied a team-high 21 assists and finished with eight digs. Daniala Jaramillo recorded 11 digs while Aspen Davidson and Cassie Davis also finished with double-digit digs with 10 apiece.

Jessica Medina and Ivana Maric led Florida Memorial with 14 kills and 13 kills, respectively. Francheska Rivera added 37 assists and seven digs for the Lions.

Ave Maria finished with 28 kills as a team compared to 20 errors. Florida Memorial hit 42 kills and had nine errors in the match for a .306 hitting percentage.

Florida Memorial jumped out to an early lead with a 25-14 first set win. In the second set, AMU fell behind early before chipping away at the Lions lead and tied the set at 23-all. The teams exchanged the next couple points before FMU won back-to-back points to win the set 28-26. The Lions closed out the match in the third with a 25-14 win.

Ave Maria returns to action on Saturday when they head to West Palm Beach to take on Keiser and Coastal Georgia in a conference tri-match.
