Softball Tops Conference Leading Warner, 1-0

AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Lady Gyrenes handed Warner their second conference loss on the season after a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon. The AMU softball team improves to 22-9 overall and to 7-3 in TSC play while Warner drops to 14-10 and 8-2 in conference play.

Both pitchers brought their A-game to AMU softball field on Friday. Sadie Mosher took home the win, pitching seven strong innings of three-hit ball. She walked just one batter and struck out nine. Warner's Valentine also pitched well, allowing one unearned run on four hits, no walks, and eight strike outs.

The lone run in the game came in the fifth inning with Marinna Shadley knocked a two-out, RBI single into left field to score Deanna Stirtzinger.

Mosher was able to get out of a couple jams in the game, stranding runners on third in the second and sixth innings. In the sixth, Mosher struck out two and got Hammett to line-out after a lead-off triple by the Royals.

The two teams return to action tomorrow for the final two games of the three-game conference series. First pitch of game one is at 11 a.m.
