MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team wrapped up the 2017 Life Invitational on Saturday. AMU fell to host Life and Martin Methodist in straight sets on day two.

The Lady Gyrenes started off slowly against Life, falling in the first set 25-12. They pulled a little closer in set two, 25-19, before challenging the host in the third set, 29-17.

Bre Holder led AMU with six kills followed by Erica Chenard with five. Lauren Ruby tallied 15 assists and Daniella Jaramillo finished with 13 digs.

In their second match, Ave Maria and Martin Methodist went point-for-point in each of the first two sets with Martin Methodist coming out on top, 25-22 and 25-23. The Red Hawks took the third set 25-15 to close out the match.

Hannah Presson tallied a team-best nine kills against Martin Methodist. Chenard finished with eight kills while Holder tallied six kills. Ruby added 19 assists. Jaramillo and Aspen Davidson collected 16 digs and 12 digs, respectively.

The Lady Gyrenes return to action next Saturday when they begin play in the St .Thomas (Texas) Invitational.
