Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BARTOW, Fla.  --- The Ave Maria tennis teams took on Warner on Saturday in Bartow, Fla. The AMU men's team picked up their first win, 6-3, while the Lady Gyrenes fell 9-0.
 
The Gyrene men's tennis team got off to a good start in double play, taking two of the three points. Sebastian Ramirez and David Zuleta won 8-3 at one-doubles. Brian Schmidt and Nicholas Hofmeister took down Warner's three-doubles team, 8-2, to earn AMU its second point.
 
In singles play, Ramirez won at one-singles 6-0, 6-3. Ave Maria got wins at three, four and five singles. Hofmeister won 6-4, 6-4 while Davin Hanton dropped just one game in his 6-1, 6-0 win. Cesar Menacho earned a win in the six-singles spot, 6-0, 6-3.
 
On the women's side, the Lady Gyrenes fell 9-0. The duo of Camilla Branstner and Averie Harkey put in a solid performance at two-doubles, falling 8-4. Branstner also put forth the best showing for AMU in singles play, dropping her match at two-singles 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
 
Ave Maria men's tennis returns to action on Tuesday when they host ASA College (Miami) in an exhibition at 2 p.m. Both teams host Southeastern next Saturday at 12 p.m. in a conference contest.
