Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria tennis teams hosted SCAD-Savannah on Saturday afternoon. The men's team defeated the Bees 6-3 while the Lady Gyrenes fell to fifth-ranked SCAD 9-0.
 
AMU took a 2-1 lead after doubles play thanks to a 8-6 win for Sebastian Ramirez and David Zuleta at one-doubles and a win by default by Cesar Menacho and Davin Hanton at three-doubles. Brian Schmidt and Nicholas Hofmeister fell at two-doubles 8-4.
 
In singles play, Ramirez bested the top player from SCAD in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. Schmidt and Hofmeister each won their matches at three- and four-singles, respectively. A win by default at five-singles by Menacho secured the 6-3 win for AMU.
 
On the women's side, SCAD won both doubles matches 8-1 to take a 3-0 lead into single play. The fifth-ranked Bees won all five matches in singles play to take the match 9-0.
 
Ave Maria tennis returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Miami Gardens to take on St. Thomas.
