WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Ave Maria baseball team fell to the 16th-ranked Keiser Seahawks on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference contest by a score of 8-2. AMU moves to 14-29 on the season as they prepare to host USCB this weekend in a three-game conference series.

The Gyrenes struck first with a Rico Soto single to left field driving in Tully Allen.

Keiser responded with two in the bottom half of the first. They added a run in the fourth and three in the fifth to make it 6-1.

Steven Valentine's sac fly brought in Allen in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to four.

The Seahawks added two in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 8-2.

Soto and Eduardo Rodriguez each finished with two hits. Allen was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Trey Weather got the start for Ave Maria and went 4.1 innings, allowing five earned runs and striking out one. Kyle Naylor pitched 1.2 innings and allowed three runs. Michael Grenon and Jake Davey each pitched an inning of hitless relief.
