ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team ended the weekend with two losses at the Robert Morris Eagles Invitational. AMU fell to Dakota Wesleyan and Trinity International in three sets each.

AMU opened with unbeaten Dakota Wesleyan. AMU fell to the Tigers in three sets, 25-14, 25-20, and 25-16. AMU kept the attack errors to a minimum in the first two sets but weren't able to keep with Dakota Wesleyans 15 kills in each set. The Tigers hit at a .324 clip in the match. AMU came in at .097.

Katie O'Donnell finished with nine kills in the opener and four digs. Erica Chenard tallied seven kills. Cassie Davis led AMU with 11 assists.

In their second match of the day, Ave Maria took on 3-1 Trinity International. The Gyrenes were defeated 25-12, 25-18, and 25-17. AMU again faced an offensive team that hit the ball well. Trinity International hit .367 for the match and only committed nine attack errors.

Chenard led AMU in match two with eight kills. Lauren Ruby had 14 assists to go along with 11 digs, both team highs.

The Gyrenes stay on the road next week with a pair of exhibition on Tuesday against Palm Beach State and Broward College in Lake Worth, Fla.
