Box Score AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season by defeating the 10th-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on Tuesday.

The Gyrenes jumped out to a 6-1 lead only to see the Bulldogs come back to tie the game at six. Two goals just before the half gave AMU a 8-6 lead at the break. In the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan opened with three straight goals to take a 9-8 lead before AMU tied it at nine. Trailing 12-9, Ave Maria scored the games final four goals to win it 13-12.

The Gyrenes will return to action on Thursday when they host No. 7 Siena Heights at 5 p.m. at Gyrene Field.
