AVE MARIA, Fla. --- After a 3-0 Ave Maria baseball lead disappeared, the Gyrenes scored seven in the seventh inning en route to an 11-4 win at Florida Memorial on Wednesday afternoon.

Alex Perez got the scoring started for AMU in the top of the third with an infield single that drove in Luis Rodriguez. Robert McMahon then doubled to center to drive in Tully Allen and Perez to make it 3-0.

A home run by Florida Memorial in the bottom of the third and another run in the bottom of the fourth made to 3-2 Gyrenes. The Lions took the lead in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of RBI singles.

Ave Maria scored seven runs on six hits and an error in the top of the seventh to take a 10-4 lead. After a leadoff walk by Rodriguez, Spencer Nelson had a RBI double to tie the game at four. Nelson then came in to score on a Perez single to right field.

With two runners on, McMahon hit his second double of the day to bring in Allen. Anier Ricardo then doubled in McMahon and Perez. Later in the inning, Chris Wydler doubled to drive in Ricardo and Rodriguez singled to center to plate Wydler.

McMahon and Perez each finished with three hits. AMU had 14 hits on the night, including five doubles and a triple.

Bryan Craft got the win for Ave Maria. He pitched two innings in relief of starter Kyle Conway and struck out two and allowed two runs. Conway allowed two earned runs overs four innings. Jack Zander, Devin Mattingly, and Justin David each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to help AMU close out the game.

Ave Maria returns to action on Friday with a double-header against Thomas beginning at 12 p.m.
