AVE MARIA, Fla.- The Ave Maria University women's tennis team took on the powerhouse of The Sun Conference on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Keiser University Seahawks at the AMU Tennis Facility. Keiser won each of the nine matches played on Saturday, and claimed a 7-0 victory over the Gyrenes.
In doubles action, the closest match came at the number three spot, as Keiser's Hannah Lairmore and Sarah Schaerer battled to a 6-4 victory over the Gyrene team of Katie Fuller and Aethielle Kelkboom. The team of Dugleisy Linarez and Camilla Abbate defeated Gabrielle Benn and Kely Oliveira 6-0 at the number two spot, while the number one position saw Maissane Aik and Alisha Hussain earn a 6-3 victory over AMU's top team of Lara Teodoro and Julia Candiotto.
All six singles matches ended in two sets, with the following results:

Next week will be a busy one for the Gyrenes, who will play four matches in a span of eight days. The stretch begins on Tuesday with a ranked opponent in Indiana Wesleyan University. The Gyrenes, who are receiving votes in the newest NAIA Coaches' Poll, will take on the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan University, who are ranked eleventh in the nation. The match will take place on the campus of Webber International University in Babson Park, and is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
