AVE MARIA, Fla.- Six Ave Maria University football players were honored by The Sun Conference on Thursday, when the league announced its annual All-Conference teams and positional award winners. The awards were selected via a vote of SUN head coaches, with coaches unable to vote for players from their own team.

Bryan Stiemke was honored as The Sun Conference's Back of the Year, and led a group of three First Team All-Sun Conference honorees that also included Willie Jackson and Joshua Jenkins. Three more Gyrenes - Dray'sun Bonney, Connor Jewel, and Shane O'Brien - were honored as Second Team All-SUN selections.

On the defensive side of the ball, Jackson's 16 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks made him an All-Conference player for the first time.
