DALLAS — The Ave Maria Men's Soccer team played their second of three games in the Lone Star State Saturday, tying the Paul Quinn Tigers 2-2.
Mateo Rolon and Sava Cadjenovic scored the two goals for the Gyrenes, continuing their hot streak in Texas. Both sophomores now have four goals in the past two games. Rolon also pushed his scoring streak three straight games.
In goal, Andrija Vujakovic made two saves on four shots on goal to keep the match a draw.
As a team, the Gyrenes doubled up the Tigers in shots, leading them 16-8. Ten of Ave Maria's 16 shots were on goal.
With the draw, Ave Maria's record moves to 2-2-2 and 1-0-1 in Texas.
The Gyrenes have more match in the Lone Star State before coming back home to Florida. Ave Maria will take on Dallas Christian Monday, September 15. Like their Saturday match against Paul Quinn, it will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on the soccer pitch. Kickoff is set for noon eastern, 11 a.m. central and the game will be streamed live by Dallas Christian.
