AVE MARIA, Fla. — The Ave Maria Men's Tennis team played their penultimate home match of the season Friday, falling to the Keiser Seahawks 4-0.

Julien Mourad and Andrue Soliva put up a good fight in the second pairing of the doubles round, battling to a 3-3 tie in the set, but the Seahawks took the other two sets 6-0 and 6-1 to secure the doubles point and end the round.

In the singles round, Keiser won the bottom three pairing to clinch the match 4-0.

In the top pairing, Joao Felipe Almedia won three games across two sets, the most of the six Gyrenes. Three other Gyrenes won two games.

With the loss, Ave Maria falls to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

The Gyrenes will close out their home season Saturday, April 11, as they play host to the St. Thomas Bobcats. Saturday will be senior day as Ave Maria honors the lone senior in Julien Mourad.
