  • Title
    Offensive Assistant
Antwon Bailey comes to Ave Maria having previously served on Coach Patterson’s coaching staff at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., for three years. Coach Bailey originally joined the St. John’s staff for the 2013 season as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach.  In his first season as coordinator, he helped guide the Cadets to the WCAC Championship Game as well as back-to-back wins against archrival Gonzaga, a first in the rivalry that spans nearly century.

As a player at St. John’s, Bailey earned the Offensive MVP during his sophomore, junior and senior years, before enrolling at Syracuse University and eventually being named captain. During his four years at Syracuse, he surpassed Jim Brown’s career rushing mark and set a new record for receiving by a running back.

After graduating from Syracuse with a degree in sports management, Bailey signed a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins in April 2012. He participated in all of the offseason sessions, the rookie camp, the training camp and the preseason games, and was later named to the practice squad.

In the summer of 2013, Coach Bailey served as a Bill Walsh Intern for the Buffalo Bills.
