Cedric Douglas was hired to the Ave Maria football program’s staff in the spring of 2013. Coach Douglas comes to Ave Maria from Northern Michigan University, where he graduated with a degree in Special Education in the fall of 2012. Coach Douglas will be coaching the running backs.

From 2007-2011 Coach Douglas started in 19 of the 35 games he appeared in during his career at Northern Michigan. From 2008-2011 He accumulated 89 tackles 2 interceptions and 9 sacks as a Linebacker for the NMU Wildcats.

Coach Douglas is a graduate of Milan High School in Milan, Michigan. He was a captain on his football, basketball, and Track and Field teams. Douglas received all league mention as a linebacker and running back for the Milan Big Reds, Started in the Monroe County All Star game, and competed in the all state track and field competition during his senior year.

In the fall of 2012 Douglas coached the running backs and linebackers as well as coordinated the strength program of the Lincoln Rail Splitters at Ypsilanti Lincoln High in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Many of those players went on to receive, all-league, all-area, or all-state honors at the conclusion of that season.
