Faragalli

Mike Faragalli

Mike Faragalli is entering his fourth season on the Ave Maria staff, serving as the Gyrene offensive coordinator.

His third year with Ave Maria saw the Gyrenes score at least 25 points in each of the team's three victories, including a 42-point effort in a win over Florida Memorial. Under his direction, AMU quarterbacks Will Tate and Kristian Marks combined to complete more than 60 percent of their passes. His running backs scored ten touchdowns over seven games, while four receivers had at least a dozen receptions.

Ave Maria scored at least 27 points in six of their ten games during Faragalli's second season on campus, including a season-high 37 in a divisional victory over St. Thomas. His quarterbacks combined to throw for nearly 2000 yards and 16 touchdowns, with the offense as a whole averaging more than 350 yards per game.

In his first year with the program, he energized the AMU offense en route to the Sun Division Championship. Faragalli’s passing game produced the Sun Division Offensive Player of the Year in sophomore quarterback Will Tate, and his ground game gained as many yards as the previous two seasons combined with freshman running back Quino Mauricette setting the AMU record for rushing yards in a season. Ave Maria’s offense turned the ball over only nine times in ten games and consistently controlled the clock.

Faragalli’s extensive experience includes eight seasons as the offensive coordinator at Bowling Green. He also spent eight seasons as the offensive coordinator at Lafayette. His two seasons as offensive coordinator at the University of Richmond resulted in the Spiders’ winning an NCAA Division I (FCS) national championship. Faragalli has also been the offensive coordinator at Norfolk State, as well as Columbia. Faragalli will also serve as the quarterbacks coach at Ave Maria, a position he held during each of his offensive coordinator posts.

Coach Faragalli has coached all of the offensive positions, except the offensive line. He served as the running backs coach at the University of Virginia, the wide receivers coach at the University of Wisconsin, and the WR/TE coach at both Rhode Island and William & Mary.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Faragalli also coached in the Canadian Football League for seven years as an offensive coordinator and head coach.
