Willie Tillman is entering his first season on the Ave Maria football staff. He serves the program as Ave Maria's linebackers coach and Director of Football Operations.
Tillman arrived at Ave Maria following two seasons as the head coach at Trinity International University, an NAIA program in Illinois. He has spent nearly 25 years in coaching, with experience at nearly every level of football from high school to the NFL.
His college stops have included time at Purdue University, Maine Maritime Academy, Anderson University, Bethel University, Florida A&M University, Murray State University, Florida Institute of Technology, and Valdosta State University. Tillman played his college football at Purdue from 1994-1997.
Tillman has had success as a high school coach in Florida, serving as the head coach at Westminster Academy and the associate head coach at Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, where he helped the Spartans to several deep playoff runs.
