Brian Hicks is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Ave Maria golf programs. He joined the University prior to the 2021-22 season, the program's first season back after a one-year pause. He rejoined the program entering the 2024-25 season.
Before coming to Ave Maria, Hicks served as the varsity girls golf coach at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis for four years. He was named Indianapolis City Alliance golf coach of the year in 2019 and 2020. Hicks guided Heritage Christian to two Indianapolis city titles, a sectional title and four regional appearances. He also coached a player to the Indiana state finals in 2018 & 2019.
Hicks is a native of Indianapolis where he played four varsity high school sports including baseball where he was a standout. He held numerous baseball state records including stolen bases in a career, a record that still stands more than 30 years later. Hicks has served as head coach of various softball and baseball teams.
Hicks is a graduate of Indiana University (1992) and IU School of Law (1995). He and his wife, Stacey, have four children: Andrea, KJ, Tyler and Morgan, a current member of the women's golf roster.
