John Klacik

John Klacik was announced as the head coach of the relaunched Ave Maria University golf programs in December 2020, ahead of the program's return in the 2021-22 school year.

Klacik will oversee all aspects of the Gyrene golf program, including the hiring of the recruitment of the student-athletes, the hiring of the coaching staff, and the development of the golfers. Ave Maria University competes in the best NAIA conference in the nation for golf.
 
Klacik, who also serves as the offensive line coach for the Ave Maria football program, brings years of playing experience to the AMU golf program. Klacik played golf during his college days at Lock Haven University, an NCAA Division II program in Pennsylvania, and has been an avid golfer ever since.  His collegiate coaching career includes time on the football staffs of Youngstown State University, Miami University, Wake Forest University, and Lock Haven University. He earned his degree in fitness management from Lock Haven University in 1988, where he was a standout wide receiver as well as a golfer.
