Travis Speier was selected as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach in January of 2013. Travis also serves as the Resident Director of the Sebastian Hall men's dormatory for Ave Maria University.
Speier, a graduate of Ave Maria University class of 2011, has been working in the division of Student Affairs with the Department of Residence Life for two years. Coach Speier was a finalist for Ave Maria University Athletic's most honorable award, the Gyrene award in 2009. Coach Speier played golf at Ave Maria in both his junior and senior seasons. He was nominated as the MVP for golf in his senior year in 2011.
Athletics has been a part of Coach Speier's life since he was young, as his father, Chris, played Major League Baseball for 19 seasons. Coach Speier's brother, Justin pitched for the Cubs, Marlins, Braves, Indians, Rockies, Blue Jays and Angels of the MLB. Travis has five siblings, Justin, Luke, Cole, Erika and Brittany.
Travis is married to his wife, Stephanie and they currently reside in Ave Maria.
