Megan Luther

Megan Luther enters her second season as head coach of the Ave Maria women's lacrosse team. She was hired in June 2019 and is the third women’s lacrosse coach in program history.

Luther earned her first victory as AMU head coach on March 3, 2020, when the Gyrenes picked up a 19-8 win over Franciscan. Ave Maria also added a win over Westminster (Pa.) before her debut season was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before accepting the Ave Maria job, Luther spent eight seasons as head junior varsity coach at Poway High School in Poway, California.

Prior to Poway, Luther spent six years coaching the Austin (Texas) High School Maroons. In her four years as the Head Varsity Coach, she led the team to two TGHSLL state tournaments (2008, 2011). Luther also served as an assistant coach in 2011 for her alma mater, the University of Texas, a WCLA Division 1 women’s lacrosse club team, where they finished tenth at the US Lacrosse WCLA National Championship.

Luther was a defensive starter for the University of Texas and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition.
