Gabby Taffaro is in her first season as a member of the Ave Maria women's soccer staff. Taffaro joins the staff after a four-year playing career from 2020-2023.
Taffaro, then known by her maiden name Gabby Decker, played 19 games across four seasons during her time at Ave Maria. She was a three-time Sun Conference All-Academic Team selection and was named Ave Maria's Female Comeback Player of the Year in 2023 after missing all of the 2021 season with an injury, then starting eleven games in 2022. With a second knee injury in the fall of 2023, Gabby chose to support her teammates from the sidelines during her final season at Ave Maria.
Taffaro graduated from the University in the fall of 2023, earning her degree in psychology with minors in theology and marriage & family studies. Outside of soccer, she currently works full-time as a coordinator for the Thomas S. Monaghan Founder's Scholarship Program at Ave Maria University. Gabby lives in Ave Maria with her husband, Luca, and their daughter Jackie Rose.
