Scott Barbe is entering into his second year as Head Coach at Ave Maria University. Coach Barbe has brought in 20 recruits since coming in to Ave Maria in January 2014, the two largest recruititing classes in the short history of the AMU volleyball program.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to join Ave Maria University and am excited to begin working with the players," said Barbe. "The volleyball team has so much potential here to excel and I think the overall attitude is that the girls want to win and want to push."

Prior to Ave Maria University Barbe was the head varsity coach at Warren Woods Tower High School in Warren, Mich., and was the head club coach at Monroe County Community College in Monroe, Mich.

Scott has accumulated over 400 wins in his 15 years of coaching at the freshman and junior varsity level and over 100 wins as a head varsity coach.

Barbe is also currently owner/athletic program director of Dynasty Volleyball Club in Macomb, Michigan. Barbe began Dynasty Volleyball Club in 2007 and ran the day-to-day operations of the club; he also coached, served as head tier trainer, and directed the club's athletic program. As a club coach, Barbe has over 300 wins including three state championships.

Prior to Dynasty Volleyball Club Scott has been involved with Michigan Elite VBC and VIP Volleyball Club. Since moving to Florida in the summer of 2013 coach Barbe has also coached at USA South Volleyball Club.

Barbe earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and his Masters of Science degree in Management from Walsh College in 2003.Â
