Eric VanHeusen is in his tenth year at Ave Maria University.
After spending his first four years working with the football program, he moved into a new role as Director of Scouting for the Ave Maria Athletic Department. The focus of his role is to help identify high school prospects and streamline recruiting efforts.
In his two decades of being a football coach, VanHeusen has been an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator, as well as a position coach for defensive line, quarterbacks, tight ends, defensive backs, linebackers, offensive line, and running backs.Â
Prior to coming to Ave Maria, VanHeusen’s longest coaching stints were six years at Princeton University and five years with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.  He also coached at Culver-Stockton College, McDaniel College, the United States Military Academy, and Siena College.
