Ave Maria

Nick Sacchetta has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 2nd, 2014. The junior out of Naples, Fla. led the Gyrenes to a sweep of Johnson University (Fla.) at home this weekend. He finished the three game series hitting .500 (4-8) including a homerun and a double, six RBI, four runs, and a stolen base.

The Green and Blue improve to 6-1 on the young season and begin conference play this weekend when they host the Warner Royals for a three game series. The first pitch of game one is slated for 2:30p.m. on Friday.
