Ave Maria

Joe Bocchino has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week ending March 17th, 2013. Bocchino, a junior RHP out of Fort Myers, Fla. picked up a win in nine innings pitched against NCAA Division I - 23rd ranked Florida Gulf Coast University on Sunday. Bocchino struck out five batters in the commanding performance. He gave up only three earned runs, and his ERA stands at 1.65 for 2013 thus far.

The Gyrenes have a quick turnaround and return to the field today when they travel to Eckerd College for a non-conference matchup. The first pitch is slated for 7p.m.
