AMU Men’s Soccer Defeated In TSC Road Contest

NORTH MIAMI, Fla.— The host Johnson and Wales Wildcats used two goals in the first twenty five minutes of play to pull away and secure a Sun Conference victory over the Ave Maria men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats would add a goal late to walk away with a 3-0 win.

Eddie Tovar supplied the offensive pressure for the Blue and Green, tallying four of the Gyrenes ten shots on the afternoon. Tovar, who is just a freshman, leads Ave Maria in shots this season and is tied for the team lead in goals. Midfielder Juan Carlos Burcaram chipped in two shots of his own in Wednesdays contest versus Johnson and Wales.

Senior goalkeeper JC Intriago was able to make nine saves in net for AMU, giving him 27 on the season.

With the loss the Gyrenes drop their record to 1-5 and are now 0-3 in the Sun Conference.

Ave Maria will continue their road trip Saturday, when they take on TSC opponent Northwood University. Kickoff for Saturday's matchup is slated for 1 p.m., from the Arrigo-Vecellio Soccer Field on the campus of Northwood University.
