AVE MARIA, Fla.--- The fourth ranked Fire of Southeastern University used a fast paced, aggressive midfield to build an early lead on the Lady Gyrenes Saturday afternoon, as the Fire outshot the Blue and Green 9-4.

The Lady Gyrenes were able to get on the scoreboard in the second half, when
Anne Bateman (Waymart, Pa.) scored by beating the Southeastern defense. Bateman's goal in the eighty-sixth minute was her fourth of the season, giving her ten points on the season.

Southeastern improves to 7-5 with the win and moves to 2-3 in the conference, while the Lady Gyrenes fall to 3-6 and 0-5 in conference play.
