THOMASVILLE, Ga.— The Thomas University Nighthawks used a second half offensive surge to pull away and snag a Sun Conference victory over the Ave Maria Lady Gyrenes soccer team on Saturday afternoon. The Nighthawks would go on to defeat the Blue and Green 5-0. AMU will return to action on Saturday, September 11th when they welcome Southeastern University to Ave Maria.
The Nighthawks started the scoring off early, notching their first goal in the second minute of play, to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Gyrenes defense was able to keep Thomas off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half to keep the deficit at one.
Thomas would go on to add four goals in the second half to stretch their lead to five and secure the conference victory as the offense of the Blue and Green was unable to find the back of the net.

Francesca Singleton (Manchester, United Kingdom) turned away ten shots in net for Ave Maria. With the loss the Blue and Green fall to 3-5 on the season and 0-4 in the Sun Conference.
