AVE MARIA, Fla.— The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) defense proved to be too strong for the AMU offense to overcome as they held the Gyrenes scoreless on Saturday morning. The Bees were able to walk away with a 1-0 victory in the TSC contest.
The SCAD offense was able to jump out to the early lead, notching the lone goal of the contest in the fourth minute of play. From there both defenses were able to clamp down and keep the other off the scoreboard.
Eddie Tovar (Naples, Fla.) led the Gyrenes offensive attack with two shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
JC Intriago (Guayaquil, Ecuador) made nine saves in net for the Blue and Green.
With the loss the Gyrenes drop their record to 1-4 and 0-2 in the Sun Conference.
The Blue and Green will now hit the road for their next two games. The Gyrenes will travel to Johnson and Wales on Wednesday and Northwood this Saturday to continue on with the TSC portion of their 2014 schedule. Â AMU will return home to take on Embry Riddle next Friday, October 10th.
