TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. --- The host Florida College Falcons broke a scoreless tie in the 78
th minute to hand the Ave Maria Lady Gyrenes their first defeat of the 2014 season.
Playing for the first time in over a week, the Blue and Green showed little signs of rust, out shooting the Falcons 10-5. Four Lady Gyrenes contributed with multiple shots on goal, led by
Anne Bateman (Waymart, Pa.) three.
Laura Mastandrea (Plantation, Fla.),
Anna Organvidez (Miami, Fla.) and
Deanna Ditmyer (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) each contributed two shots on net.

Francesca Singleton (Manchester, United Kingdom) notched four saves in net in the 1-0 defeat. With the loss the Blue and Green move their record to 2-1 on the young season.
The Blue and Green return to action this coming Thursday, September 11, when they take on TSC opponent Johnson and Wales University at 4 p.m., in a non-conference matchup. Thursday's contest will be the first home contest for the Lady Gyrenes in the 2014 season.
