SAVANNAH, Ga. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team fell to the Savannah College of Art and Design Bees on Saturday afternoon. The Bees broke open a 1-0 game at the half with three goals in the second stanza to make it a 4-0 final.

The Lady Gyrenes drop to 5-8 on the season and to 1-6 against conference opponents.

Meadhbh Deeney opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minutes off a pass from Fiona Gorman. The Lady Gyrenes would stay within a goal into the second half before Deeney's second goal of the game in the 53rd minute made the score 2-0.

Theresa Stevens put the game out of reach with a goal in the 79th minute off a pass from Maghan Grable. Olivia Buechler added a goal 27 seconds later to make it 4-0 in favor of SCAD.

SCAD outshot the Lady Gyrenes 29-3. Anne Bateman, Alexia Mazzoccone, and Kelsey Moser each had a shot for the Blue and Green.

Francesca Singleton took the loss for AMU, allowing four goals and making 12 saves.

The Lady Gyrenes return to action on Wednesday when they welcome Webber International to AMU Soccer Field for a 4 p.m. tilt.
