BABSON PARK, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's soccer team was narrowly edged by Webber on Wednesday afternoon in Babson Park, Florida. A Webber goal 3:16 into the match was the difference in the 1-0 final.

It was a fairly even match across the board with Webber holding a 12-8 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. Fabrizio Bucco had six of the shots for AMU with three going on net. Thomas Bello and Dan Lomady each tallied a shot in the match.

Andrea Salomone took the loss in net for the Gyrenes, making four saves on five shots against. Randy Chesson picked up the shutout for Webber, stopping the three shots he faced.

The Blue and Green drop to 1-11 on the season and fall to 0-7 against Sun Conference opponents. This was their seventh loss by one goal and fourth by a 1-0 decision.

Ave Maria returns to the pitch on Thursday afternoon when they welcome Florida National to AMU Soccer Field. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. Prior to the match, AMU will honor its two seniors, Carl Bishop and Dan Lomady.
