AVE MARIA, Fla. --- It may not have been how they drew it up, but the Ave Maria football team outdueled Concordia College (Ala.), 11-0, on Saturday afternoon for their third straight win.

Ave Maria improves to 3-2 on the season as they ready to host North Greenville next weekend at AMU Football Field. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 12 p.m.

Joseph Ferraro had the lone touchdown on the afternoon when he caught a 13-yard pass from Bob Orban in the corner of the endzone to put the Blue and Green up 6-0 with 1:03 to play in the first half. A bad exchange on the point after caused the attempt to be blocked and keep the game at 6-0.

Early in the third quarter, Brandon Leon connected on a 20-yard field goal to make it a 9-0 game. Midway through the fourth quarter, the snap on a Concordia punt went over the kickers head and forcing him to kick the ball back through his own endzone resulting in a safety for the Blue and Green to get us to the final of 11-0.

Orban was 15-of-28 for 145 yards and a touchdown. He also had two interceptions. Scott Jones ran for 56 yards on five attempts. Xavier Roberts had four catches for 37 yards.

Frank Kelly finished with five solo tackles including two sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss. Reshard Allen tallied eight total tackles and an interception. Jordan Ramsey also had an interceptions.

Leon was 1-for-3 on field goal attempts, making a 20-yard effort and missing from 46 and 27 yards (blocked). Leon also punted six times for 216 yards (36.0 avg.) and pinned Concordia inside their own 20-yardline four times.
