TITUSVILLE, Fla. --- The Ave Maria softball team was outlasted by Bloomfield College, 2-0, in 11 innings. The Lady Gyrenes fall to 11-15 on the season. AMU returns to action on Wednesday when they take on Waldorf College (Iowa) in a doubleheader beginning at 9 a.m.

In a pitcher's duel, Cheyenne Benson and Bloomfield's Kirsten Wilson went head-to-head for 10 scoreless innings before Bloomfield was able to get two runs in the bottom of the 11th inning. The two runs came on a two-out, two-run homerun by Wilson.

Benson allowed seven hits and walked two while striking out six over 10.2 innings. She drops to 4-9 on the season.

Five Lady Gyrenes recorded hits in the loss. Aside from Wilson's homerun, Alyssa Colding had the only other extra-base hit on the afternoon, a double in the top of the tenth.

Wilson pitched 11 scoreless innings for Bloomfield, allowing five hits and walking two while striking out 14.
