AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team fell 9-0 at St. Thomas in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Gyrenes are now 2-1 on the season.

The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday when they host Southeastern for a 1 p.m. tilt.

The Lady Gyrenes fell behind early when Sharon Tejeda scored back-to-back goals in the opening 11 minutes. After an Ana Parra goal at the 18:43 mark, Sarah Thomsson scored three consecutive goals to make it 6-0 St. Thomas heading into the break.

Alexa Rivera started the scoring for STU in the second half before two goals by Michelle Bailey made it 9-0.

Francesca Singleton falls to 2-1 on the season. She made six saves on the afternoon.

AMU was outshot 26-1. Alexia Mazzoccone recorded the lone shot for the Lady Gyrenes.
