MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. --- Martez Harris scored a season-high 25 points in the Ave Maria men's basketball team's 85-66 loss at St. Thomas on Tuesday night. Brandon Dean was the other Gyrene in double-figures with 18 points.

Ave Maria drops to 5-17 on the season and to 2-7 in TSC play while St. Thomas moves to 11-7 overall and to 5-3 against conference opponents.

St. Thomas held a 54 percent to 47 percent edge in field goal percentage and made eight threes compared to three by the Gyrenes. The Bobcats were also able to get to the free throw line more, making 19-of-39 compared to 12-of-15 by AMU.

Michael Walker led St. Thomas with 28 points. He was 12-of-15 from the field. Walker was one of four Bobcats in double-figures.

Brandon Dean opened the game with a three to give the Gyrenes the early 3-0 lead before St. Thomas was able to take the lead for good, 6-5, at the 16:31 mark of the first half. The Bobcats led by as many as 14 in the first half and took a 37-26 lead into the break. St. Thomas outscored the Gyrenes 48-40 in the second half en route to the 85-66 victory over AMU.
