AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team fell to Thomas University, 3-0, in their midweek matchup. Prior to the game, AMU honored its five seniors on the team.

All the scoring came in the opening half. Thomas' Olivia Taylor found the back of the net first in the 19th minute off a cross from Rebekah Wiltshire. In the 40th minute, Katy Hanscomb scored for Thomas to make it 2-0 off a shot from 25-yards out. The final score for the Night Hawks came from Kayla Folse on a cross from Taylor to make it 3-0.

AMU held a slight edge in shots, 9-8, but Thomas held the advantage in shots on goal, 6-3.

Senior Francesca Singleton took the loss, allowing three goals and making three saves.

Sarah McBride had three shots and one shot on goal to lead AMU. Meghan Precord also had multiple shots on the afternoon for the Lady Gyrenes.

Ave Maria returns to action on Thursday, October 20, when they host Webber at 1 p.m.
