Florida Memorial Rallies Past Gyrene Men’s Soccer

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's soccer fell to Florida Memorial 2-1 on Thursday night. The Blue and Green struck first but two unanswered goals by the Lions put Florida Memorial ahead 2-1.
 
Juan Carlos Bucaram netted the goal for AMU in the 31st minute off a pass from Resam Moghimi. Florida Memorial got a pair of goals from Maximiliano Schendfeld in the 61st and 69th minutes to take the lead.
 
AMU was outshot 12-9 but the Gyrenes put more shots on frame, 6-5.
 
Alejandro Echeverria led AMU with four shots and three shots on goal. Sebastian Mayorga had two shots on goal.
 
Andrea Salomone took the loss in net, allowing two goals and making three saves.
 
The Gyrenes head to Warner on Saturday for a 1 p.m. showdown before concluding the season on Monday against Southeastern at the AMU Soccer Field.
