LAKE WALES, Fla. --- The Ave Maria Men's Soccer team fell on the road on Saturday, 4-1, to Warner. AMU and Warner were tied 1-1 at the half before three second half goals by the Royals put Warner in front.
Warner opened the scoring with a goal in the 22nd minute before Sebastian Mayorga found the back of the net for the Gyrenes to even up the game at 1-1. In the second half, Warner scored in the 52nd, 80th, and 89th minutes to take a 4-1 lead.
Ave Maria was outshot 16-9 and Warner held a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. AMU had six corner kicks compared to one by Warner.
Andrea Salomone had six saves in net in the loss.
Ave Maria concludes the season on Monday when they host Southeastern at 2 p.m.
