AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria softball team fell to Webber International in both games of their Saturday doubleheader earlier this afternoon. The Blue and Green were no-hit in game one and then saw Webber score three in the sixth and three in the seventh to take game two 8-5.

The Lady Gyrenes drew three walks in the game one but weren't able to come up with a hit against the Webber's Erika Bellinger. Bellinger struck out one Lady Gyrene.

Webber took the lead in game one on a RBI single to third base in the sixth inning.

Sadie Mosher pitched well in the circle for AMU, allowing just the one run in seven innings. Webber had eight hits and walked twice. Mosher struck out seven in the loss.

The bats came alive for both teams in game two. Webber jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first before a Michella Davis RBI single followed by a Marissa Conde RBI single in the bottom of the second tied the game at two.

AMU took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third inning on a Mosher double to bring in Marinna Shadley.

Webber scored three in the top of the sixth and then three more in the top of the seventh on a bases-loaded triple. The Lady Gyrenes got two back in the bottom of the seventh when Mosher and Avery scored on a fielding error by Webber.

Emily Lemin started game two and went 1.1 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three walks. Gennifer Raulerson took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing five runs, three of which were earned. Meghan Sullivan and Katelyn Packard each pitched a third of an inning.

The Lady Gyrenes return to action next weekend when they host USCB on Saturday and Thomas on Sunday in Ave's final home games of the season.
