M/W Golf Tournaments Shortened Due To Weather

SEA ISLAND, Ga. --- The Ave Maria men's team finished in a tie for 11th and the women's golf team finished in eighth after the final round of the Coastal Georgia Invitational was cancelled on Tuesday due to weather. 

The Lady Gyrenes played the Pine Lakes course at Jekyll Island Golf Club. Ave Maria shot a program best 346 for the tournament.
 
Freshman Bianca Vicioso led AMU with an opening round 84. Claire Hunn finished with an 86 followed by Sarah Notaro at 87. Jessica Licari shot an 89 while Kayla Longo finished with a 92.
 
Faulkner won the women's team tournament after firing a 299. USCB's Franzi Knoetsch was the low individual with a 71.

The Ave Maria men's golf team finished tied 11th of 16 teams at the Retreat Course at Sea Island Golf Club. The Blue and Green fired team total of 306 and 299 to finish at 605.
 
The field feature several team currently ranked in the NAIA Top-25 preseason poll. The 299 round in round two is just the third time in program history that AMU has scored a sub-300 team total.
 
James Desanges led the way for Ave Maria with rounds of 73 and 72 to finish in tie for 13th place individually. With rounds of 76 and 75, Jacob Roberts finished at 151 followed by Andre'a Scopone (80-76) at 156 and Isaac Nycum (77-81) at 158. Jonathan Unterman carded rounds of 83 and 76 to finish at 159.
 
Host Coastal Georgia won the tournament with a total of 578. Lindsey Wilson College's Rasmus Lind was the low individual after 36-holes after firing rounds of 70-67 to finish with a 137 (-7).
