WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Lady Gyrenes fell to Keiser in a defensive game on Thursday night, 51-42. The Lady Gyrenes shot 27.9 percent while Keiser finished the game shooting at a 30.9 percent clip.
 
Macarena Corral led the Lady Gyrenes with 15 points, five rebounds and five steals. Lauren Gillingham added 12 points and eight rebounds. Sarah Miller grabbed 16 boards while Erin Koehler added nine points and seven rebounds.
 
The Blue and Green finished with 22 turnovers while Keiser finished with 20 on the night.
 
Keiser scored the first five points of the game and jumped out to a 17-9 first quarter lead. The Seahawks extended their lead to 33-20 at the half. The Lady Gyrenes cut into the 13-point defecit in the third quarter, outscoring Keiser 15-11 in the quarter. Both teams scored seven points in the fourth quarter as Keiser went on to win 51-42.
 
The Lady Gyrenes move to 5-7 overall and to 2-3 in conference play. Keiser improves to 10-6 overall and to 3-1 in league play.
 
Ave Maria returns to action on Saturday when they take on Southeastern at 4 p.m. in Lakeland.
