DELAND, Fla. --- Jovan Grujicic recorded a team-high 12 points in the Gyrenes loss to Stetson on Monday night, 87-53. The game was the first of back-to-back exhibitions for Ave Maria as they take on Embry-Riddle Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Grujicic also grabbed six rebounds and was 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Nemanja Brankov finished with seven points and seven rebounds while Jonathan Simmons and Joan Povea also tallied seven points for AMU.

Ave Maria 34.7 percent for the game and was 7-of-23 from three while Stetson shot 50 percent on the night and made 16 threes.

Stetson also capitalized on 17 AMU turnovers and converted those to 23 points.

The Gyrenes kept the game close for the opening 10 minutes before Stetson used a 19-0 run over six minutes to take a 31-11 lead. Stetson would lead 42-19 at the half. AMU was outscored 45-34 in the second half.
